# Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It for Job Seekers in 2026?

## What LinkedIn Premium actually gives you

LinkedIn Premium Career costs $29.99/month (or $239.88/year). For that, you get:

- **InMail messages** — 5 per month. You can message anyone on LinkedIn, even people you're not connected with.
- **"Who viewed your profile"** — see the full list of people who viewed your profile (free tier shows limited results).
- **Applicant insights** — see how you compare to other applicants for a job (education, experience level, skills).
- **Top Applicant badge** — get highlighted as a "Top Applicant" when your profile matches a job well.
- **LinkedIn Learning** — full access to their course library.
- **Featured Applicant** — your application is shown more prominently to recruiters.

## What actually matters for job seekers

Let's be honest about which features move the needle:

### InMail: sometimes useful

InMail has a response rate of about 10-25%. It's useful for reaching specific hiring managers or recruiters, but 5 messages per month is limited. Most recruiters respond to connection requests with a short note just as well — and those are free.

### Applicant insights: interesting but not actionable

Knowing that 40% of applicants have a Master's degree doesn't change whether you should apply. You either fit the role or you don't. This feature satisfies curiosity more than it helps strategy.

### Top Applicant / Featured Applicant: marginal

These features give you slightly more visibility in the applicant pool. LinkedIn claims Featured Applicants are 2x more likely to get a response. But if your resume doesn't match the job, visibility alone won't help.

### LinkedIn Learning: valuable but separate

If you need to learn a specific skill (SQL, project management, etc.), LinkedIn Learning is genuinely useful. But you can get this separately for less than Premium costs.

## What LinkedIn Premium doesn't do

Premium does NOT:

- Monitor career pages beyond LinkedIn
- Score jobs against your resume
- Generate tailored resumes
- Track jobs posted on Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, or other ATS platforms
- Automate any part of your search

Premium helps you within the LinkedIn ecosystem. It doesn't help you with the 30-50% of jobs that never make it to LinkedIn.

## The cost comparison

LinkedIn Premium Career: **$29.99/month**

Gurify Pro: **$49/month**

For $49/month, Gurify monitors both LinkedIn AND 1,000+ company career pages, scores every job against your resume, and generates tailored resumes for your best matches. For $30/month, LinkedIn Premium gives you 5 InMail messages and applicant statistics.

If you're choosing between them, the question is: do you need more visibility within LinkedIn (Premium), or do you need to find more jobs and prepare better applications (Gurify)?

## Our recommendation

LinkedIn Premium is worth trying for one month if you want to use InMail to reach specific people. Use the free trial, send your 5 messages, see if it works for your search.

For ongoing job discovery and preparation, Gurify gives you more at a third of the price. Automated monitoring, AI scoring, and tailored resumes — across LinkedIn and career pages.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Use Premium for outreach, Gurify for discovery.
