At scale. ### About the role: As Zowie grows and brings larger enterprise customers onto our AI platform, we’re facing challenges that sit at the intersection of infrastructure, application architecture, developer experience, and enterprise clients’ requirements. These problems are rarely well-defined upfront, there’s never a single way to solve them and they can’t be solved by tooling alone. This is why we’re looking for an energetic DevOps Engineer, who enjoys building usable and reliable platform capabilities — from first understanding why the problem exists, through design and implementation, to long-term ownership in production. Several factors shape the nature of platform work here... ### What makes platform challenges interesting at Zowie: - Multi-cloud reality – AWS is our primary environment today, with GCP playing a growing role. - Mission-critical workloads – our platform sits on the frontline of our customers’ businesses, so reliability, clarity, and operational ownership matter. - Developer enablement at scale – as the organization grows, platform decisions increasingly affect developers velocity, and our mission is to enable them for success. - Technological variety - to support the Product team's needs, our infrastructure consists of many technologies, like MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, Cassandra and Redis. - Voice Technologies - as our AI Agent supports phone calls, you’ll have a chance to work with reliable and scalable SIP infrastructure. - Enterprise readiness – secure access patterns, auditability, and compliance are becoming first-class requirements. - AI‑native engineering org. - you’re expected (not just allowed) to use modern AI tools in your daily work. ### This role might be for you, if you: - Want to have real influence on how an entire platform evolves - Enjoy owning initiatives end-to-end, not just implementing predefined tasks - Are curious to understand your stakeholders, then design pragmatic solutions that account for the impact of your decisions - Like working at the boundary between infrastructure, application architecture, and developer experience ### What you'll do: - Work with AWS and GCP infrastructure (IaC, networking, compute, IAM, secrets), secure access and authorization mechanisms (DB auth, IAM flows, audit). - Communicate with various stakeholders to understand different infrastructure-related challenges, provide solution plans and ensure success of the initiatives you own. - Collaborate closely with developers to understand their workflows, pain points, and constraints; ensure platform decisions improve developer experience. ### Ideally, you'll bring with you: - 2+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering roles - Experience with GCP or AWS (IAM, networking, compute, storage, common managed services) - Experience with Infrastructure as Code in a multi-datacenter/multi-cloud deployment setup - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic can-do attitude - High degree of ownership and desire to drive projects from start to finish - Good familiarity with CI/CD processes and approaches - AI-native approach (you use modern AI tools in your daily work while holding the line on solid engineering) ### It will be awesome if you also have: - Experience with visualization tools like Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus - Experience with storage tech like MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch - Experience managing AWS costs, running backup recovery operations - Experience with SaaS/enterprise customers (security reviews, compliance expectations) ### AI-native culture: Our team embraces AI as a fundamental part of how we work - not just for speed, but for creativity, documentation, and scale.
