### Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale large-scale distributed systems supporting enterprise fulfillment platforms. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on Node.js, TypeScript, Azure, microservices, and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate will have recent production experience building and operating resilient cloud-native backend systems and be comfortable with scalability, reliability, messaging, observability, failure handling, and production support.

### Must-Have Qualifications

•

### 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience

- Strong, recent Node.js backend development

•

### Strong TypeScript development experience

- Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems

•

### Meaningful, recent Microsoft Azure experience

•

### Strong REST API development experience

•

### Experience with microservices/service-oriented architectures

•

### Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures

•

### Strong understanding of distributed-system concepts:

•

### Scalability

•

### High availability

•

### Fault tolerance

•

### Idempotency

•

### Retry strategies

•

### Eventual consistency

•

### Service-to-service communication

•

### Failure recovery

•

### Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience

- Experience writing clean, maintainable, well-tested production code

•

### Production application troubleshooting and support experience

- Strong understanding of reliability, resilience, and observability

- Ability to make engineering decisions within established architecture

•

### Strong communication and collaboration skills
