## Job description

### Title: Controller

### Location: Dallas, TX

### COMPANY OVERVIEW

Covenant is a global defense company headquartered in Washington, D.C., building long-range precision strike weapons for the United States and its allies. Its flagship munition, Anthem, combines heavy payload and long range at a fraction of the cost of comparable legacy systems, with production volumes designed to meet the demands of prolonged conflict. Designed as an end-to-end weapon system that is simple to store, transport, and field, Anthem is produced in the United States, Germany, and Israel. For more information, visit covenant.com

### THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our U.S. manufacturing facility while serving as a strategic business partner to Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, operational discipline, and cost visibility across our manufacturing organization as we scale production of advanced defense systems.

As the financial leader supporting manufacturing operations, you will oversee program financial performance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to ensure accurate product costing, effective inventory management, and timely financial reporting that enables informed business decisions.

### WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Lead all accounting and financial operations supporting the Dallas manufacturing facility.

- Partner with Program Managers to monitor program budgets, financial performance, cost-to-complete estimates, and contract profitability.

- Own intercompany (IC) accounting and transfer pricing (TP) processes, including reconciliations, cross-border transactions, and financial settlement between international entities.

- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies in a highly matrixed organization.

- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and monthly variance analyses.

- Own manufacturing cost accounting, including labor, overhead, material costing, and inventory valuation.

- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle count programs, physical inventory audits, and inventory reconciliation activities.

- Partner closely with Supply Chain and Production to ensure inventory accuracy and optimize working capital.

- Analyze manufacturing performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations that improve operational efficiency.

- Develop financial reporting and KPIs for manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and program performance.

- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and government contracting requirements.

- Establish and maintain strong internal controls across accounting, inventory, purchasing, and manufacturing operations.

- Support customer audits, DCAA audits, external financial audits, and internal compliance reviews.

- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to support strategic planning and business growth.

- Lead and develop the accounting team while driving continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting.

### REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

- 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Manager within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).

- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including system optimization, data cleanup, process improvements, and scaling to support a growing organization.

- Experience supporting manufacturing operations with product costing, labor analysis, inventory valuation, and operational financial reporting.

- Experience overseeing cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliations, and inventory control processes.

- Experience partnering with Program Management to monitor project budgets, contract financial performance, and program execution.

- Strong understanding of ERP systems, inventory management systems, and manufacturing financial processes.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

- U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations.

### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

- Knowledge of government contracting, FAR/DFARS, DCAA compliance, and contract accounting principles.

- Experience supporting high-rate manufacturing, production scale-up, or greenfield manufacturing operations.

- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), program finance, and defense acquisition programs.

- Experience leading finance organizations within a high-growth manufacturing company or startup.

- MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL

- You understand that finance is a strategic partner to manufacturing—not just a reporting function—and use financial insights to improve operational performance.

- You are highly analytical and enjoy digging into manufacturing costs, inventory, and program performance to drive better business decisions.

- You build strong relationships across Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management, enabling cross-functional collaboration.

- You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can establish financial discipline while helping scale a growing manufacturing organization.

- You are motivated by building financial systems and processes that support the delivery of mission-critical defense technologies with accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence.

**Live in Covenantindustries’s hiring system.** Read from the company's own applicant tracking system, not reposted from a job board — so it's a real, open requisition rather than an ad that outlived the role.

We remove it as soon as it disappears at source.
