Origin is building the endpoint AI observability platform https://www.originhq.com/blog/what-is-ai-observability for AI-adopting organizations. We believe that organizations should not adopt AI on their endpoints without observability in place, and we want to be the platform that maximizes the productivity & safety of that adoption.

The company exists to maximize the diffusion of intelligence inside an organization, maximize the productivity of agentic systems and the humans driving them, keep agent actions traceable end-to-end so that when a user asks for something in a prompt they can verify the agent actually did what was expected, and give organizations one interface to answer the hardest questions they have about how work gets done.

### Role

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will be a key contributor to scaling our financial operations. We are a Sequoia-backed Series A company and are ready to transition from foundational accounting to a sophisticated, scalable finance function. You will be a part of the entire accounting cycle, ensure we are audit-ready, and provide the financial visibility needed to drive our next phase of growth.

You will be expected to roll up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day while building out the automated systems that will support our global expansion.

### Responsibilities

- Own day-to-day accounting at Origin, including accounting for foreign subsidiaries (e.g., Canada, Israel, etc.), multi-currency consolidation and local tax compliance.

- Partner with People Ops to ensure seamless payroll execution for international contractors and EOR (Employer of Record) employees.

- Own and accelerate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements.

- Prepare and present monthly flash reports and board-level financial packages that highlight key KPIs, burn rate, and runway.

- Lead the company through preparing for its first external audit.

- Manage all domestic and international tax filings (VAT, GST, R&D tax credits). Where applicable, work for 3rd party tax advisors.

- Evaluate and manage our ERP and other financial systems.

- Design and implement robust internal controls to mitigate risk without sacrificing startup speed.

- Streamline AP/AR, payroll, and expense management through automation tools.

- Monitor daily cash balances and optimize treasury management.

- Work closely with Department Heads to monitor budget vs. actuals and provide "sanity checks" on departmental spending.

### Skills and Experience

- 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a high-growth startup environment.

- Active CPA license. Big 4 accounting background is a significant plus.

- Excel/Google Sheets wizard and have experience with global payment platforms and mid-market ERPs.

- Experience navigating a successful Series B or C fundraise for a software company.
