R&D Ops

Zafran is looking for an R&D Ops who supports the Engineering leadership. The R&D Ops will manage operational cadence, serve as a trusted advisor to the VP Engineering, and drive alignment of R&D objectives with company strategy in a remote capacity. The role requires creativity, research, and problem-solving skills, as well as deep technical knowledge and the ability to dive deep into complex and difficult problems.

What you will do:
- Strategic Planning: Translate executive goals into actionable roadmaps and measurable targets

  • Operational Rhythm: Run leadership meetings, quarterly planning, and daily tracking.
  • Financial Oversight: Partner with Finance to manage the R&D budget, hiring plans, and team capacity, and cloud cost management and overview with DevOps.
  • Data Dashboards: Build tracking tools that turn technical details (like delivery speed and headcount) into clear insights for business leaders.
  • Trusted Advisor: Act as an extension of the leader. Prioritize competing requests, resolve escalations, and prepare board materials.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working with engineering organizations or a tech background

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, product management, or a Chief of Staff role within a high-growth B2B SaaS company
  • Experience with AI automation tools
  • Deep understanding of R&D organizations and the product development lifecycle
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leaders without formal authority
  • Proven problem-solving ability with superior judgment and realistic understanding of business issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting board materials and presenting complex topics
